Dear Colleagues and Readers,

Our journal has been sought after by health scientists after it was included in the TUBITAK ULAKBIM TR Index and Web of Science- Emerging Sources Citation Index. Articles accepted for publication are translated into English, which increases worldwide accessibility and citation rates. Due to these developments, the number of submissions we receive increased significantly and we have decided to change the frequency of our journal as “quarterly” to better work with our authors.

We are glad to present to you a new issue with new topics. In this issue, you can find interesting and valuable articles.

Kelahmetoğlu et al. presented their experience on the correction of complications of subcutaneous venous ports in their article titled “Embedding exposed subcutaneous venous ports in the pectoral muscle: a practical and stable technique for coverage.”

The article by Uzer et al. titled “Comparison between Y- and S-shaped incisions for open reduction and hook-plate fixation of the mallet finger” is interesting and worth reading.

The review written by Aydoğdu et al. titled “Male circumcision: unending debate” presents detailed information on circumcision, which has been on the agenda for thousands of years.

Moreover, the case report by Demir et al. titled “A rare presentation of systemic lupus erythematosus during childhood: Chorea” is among the studies that can draw attention.

We are taking firm steps toward achieving our goal of being included in Science Citation Index Expanded. We are aware that we will reach this goal with the help of your qualified studies and increased citation rate, and we expect to receive your support for reaching this goal.

With your contributions, Bezmialem Science has been gaining a more prestigious place in science with each passing day. On behalf of the editorial board, I thank our esteemed readers, authors, and reviewers for their great efforts.

Best regards,

Adem Akçakaya, MD, Prof.
